Why these tropes fit
Scarred King Erik of the Ever Kingdom has spent years imprisoned beneath the waves, consumed by vengeance against the man who killed his father and bound his realm. When his enemy's daughter accidentally shatters the magical chains holding the Ever captive, Erik seizes on her unwitting role and makes her a pawn in his revenge plot. Though she is innocent and he is vicious, she begins to threaten his hardened heart before he can finish what he started.
