Why these tropes fit
Alien mercenary Thorrn, cursed to expect a lifetime of solitude, travels to Scotland seeking human women compatible with his species, convinced his broken, scarred self is unworthy of a mate. When he encounters sassy Earth businesswoman Jenny, who has recently escaped an abusive relationship and is promoting a new dating agency to rebuild her life, his fated mating instincts surge, forcing him to choose between claiming her as his own or returning her to his planet for scientific study. Jenny is tempted by the hot Highlander-like alien who offers to protect her from her violent ex, but struggles to trust him when she learns his people plan to experiment on her.
